When I started learning about ley lines and such, I read that one of the strongest indications of an alignment were these piles of stones, called cairns, which would be most often placed on hilltops where they could be seen from some distance. It was also my understanding that, outside of Europe, the practice of constructing cairns for this purpose -- or any purpose -- was not exactly common. So I was pretty surprised to find this one on the hills on the eastern side of Highway 1 between Jenner and Fort Ross. The hill itself looks man-made, to me, but I could be wrong.
