When I started learning about ley lines and such, I read that one of the
strongest indications of an alignment were these piles of stones, called
cairns, which would be most often placed on hilltops where they could be
seen from some distance. It was also my understanding that, outside of
Europe, the practice of constructing cairns for this purpose -- or any
purpose -- was not exactly common. So I was pretty surprised to find this
one on the hills on the eastern side of Highway 1 between Jenner and Fort
Ross. The hill itself looks man-made, to me, but I could be wrong.
