Candlebox's third album finds the grunge-rock mainstay expanding its sound, with the inclusion of new drummer Dave Krusen (formerly of Pearl Jam). "10,000 Horses" and "Look What You've Done" are almost prog-rock; "Belmore Place" finds guitarist Peter Klett experimenting with slide. Vocalist Kevin Martin's reedy voice is surprisingly supple from the tense title track to the nostalgic "Sometimes." Candlebox's ability to skip across the boundaries of pop, rock and metal continues to be its greatest strength.
