On his first full-length release, disco wizard Brian Transeau compiles a collection of dance-floor favorites like "Embracing the Sunshine" with remixes and atmospheric tunes in a work that's both danceable and listenable. Pianos, whales, acoustic guitars and Celtic pipes make cameo appearances between layers of Enigmaesque trance melodies and infectious rhythms. BT is at his most engaging, however, when he combines his pulsating themes with vocal snippets, slipping Motown moments into "Loving You More" and Tori Amos' mesmerizing soprano into "Blue Skies." The latter is the real gem of the album, perhaps suggesting the direction BT should consisder for future releases.
