A little retro activity!

(Now excuse me while I get into my 17-year-old persona)

This image shamelessly stolen from here, a site I didn't include on my page because it crashed my browser.

Hi, I'm Beth, and I'm a senior at El Molino High School in Sonoma County, California. I tend to be pretty shy... so it's cool to have the Internet, so I can write everything I don't know how to say.

This is my humble web site, where you can find out about the kinds of stuff I am into. I really like writing and music, especially hard rock music. My favorite color is purple, and I love my cats, my friends, my boyfriend, and (believe it or not) school.

First of all, here's a little creation I call "Everything I Needed to Know I Learned From Heavy Metal".

These are some of the bands I listen to a lot:

  • I love Skid Row -- they're all so cute and their songs are really powerful.
  • Dangerous Toys seem to have a lot of fun playing their songs...
  • Guns N' Roses are, like, the coolest band.
  • I just recently got into Metallica, but they're quickly becoming one of my favorites. I never knew how smart they were before!
  • I have some special memories associated with White Lion... and their songs give me shivers.
  • Bang Tango's music seems pretty unique from other rock bands... check 'em out.
  • I adore the lead singer of The Cult, even if my boyfriend calls him "Mr. Faggy Pants."
  • My ex once called Led Zeppelin "weird," but I just think they're cool.
  • Queensryche make some of the best music, especially their "Operation: Mindcrime" album.
  • I got into Jim Morrison a couple of years ago. I really like his writing and his dark view of the world. Here's a site for his band, The Doors.
  • Soundgarden is also a bit different from these other bands, but something about their "Louder than Love" album really moves me...
  • I used to listen to Def Leppard a lot, but since their entire "Hysteria" album became hit singles, I got a little tired of it.
  • The music of Living Colour is so fun, but it has a really good message too. (And their singer isn't half bad looking either. *grin*)
  • Joe Satriani is better than all the rest of the above bands put together... in fact, he taught some of them how to play!
  • I got into King's X through my boyfriend, and their album "Gretchen Goes to Nebraska" is one of my faves.
  • Tesla just plain rules.

Since you've been so nice as to read all the way to here, I want to share a couple of my poems with you.

Oh, I'm really into Anne Rice, too.
